Maria Shaing is the adoptive mother of Shin Hyuga Shaing. She cared for Shin like her real son. In the 3rd episode, after Shin takes over as leader of Euro-Britannia, he puts her under his Geass along with Alice, so that they stab each other simulatenously and die.
