At the end of the series, the Witches convince Eve, the first woman and creator of the dream world, to stop her attempt to destroy the world and instead return to Heaven and reunite with God. Eve asks Haruto to come with her and he agrees, even though that would mean his death in the waking world. As Haruto and Eve depart to Heaven, his body in the waking world dies. The final scene also implies he was Eve's long-lost Adam.
