A few years ago, Aoi had made a promise with Hinata that they would climb mountains together, but after a bit of a nasty fall of a playground attraction, she ended up with a broken arm and a fear of heights, which eventually lead to a withdrawn personality. However, once Hinata approached her at the start of high school, Aoi once again is drawn towards the lure of the mountain.
